• Direct service provision for individual service users including befriending, correspondence, driving, escorting, gardening/DIY, shopping, wheelchair pushing and the Sutton Hearing Aid Remedial Project.• Appropriate Adults supporting vulnerable adults and young people at Sutton Police Station.• Youth mentoring in local schools, those excluded from schools & young offenders.• Mentoring for Care Leavers and Looked After Children.• Peer mentoring in schools.• A Youth Participation project and the Sutton Youth Parliament.• A “v” Team involving young people in volunteering.• Special Needs Gardening/DIY working with volunteers Supported Volunteering with additional support needs• Development of volunteering opportunities in sport and leisure.The Centre supports over 200 direct service volunteers, 80 mentors, 120 peer mentors & 30 Appropriate Adults. Over 100 Young people are involved in Youth Action Teams and 30 in the Sutton Youth Parliament. The Gardening Projects support 20 volunteers with additional support needs.Volunteer Centre Sutton holds the National Mentoring and Befriending Foundation Approved Provider Standard, is an ambassador Centre for mentoring and befriending and a Goldstar organisation for the dissemination of good practice in volunteer management.Volunteer Centre Sutton is committed to an “Equalities and Diversity” policy and the provision of quality services.Volunteer Centre Sutton holds a Charter Mark, Investors in People, Investing in Volunteers, Volunteer England’s Quality Standard, & Positive about Disabled People
